Igniters,
I was looking at Ubuntu Juju and think it would be nice for Ignite to have a Juju charmer created. We could have a Juju charmer for Ignite server, based on JCloud integration (which was added recently thanks to Denis). More on jcloud integration here: http://apacheignite.readme.io/v1.0/docs/generic-cloud-configuration Here is a link to Juju store which has a list of all available Juju charmers: https://jujucharms.com/store Anyone in the community has experience with Juju? Would be nice to hear if others find this work useful or have more or different ideas about it. D. |
+1 for sure
I would be happy to get you guys in touch with Juju team - I have good relations with those folks. Hi Jorge.
I'd like to kick-off the conversation of adding yet another distributed system into Juju's realm ;). Apache Ignite is an advance in-memory fabric project, that has been in development for quite some time and is extremely easy in the deployment. How would be proceed with the adding the charms for it? Would it be something the Juju community is interested to board? Thanks! I've filed this bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/charms/+bug/1456203 We're kind of full manpower-wise with the rest of the Apache stack, but we would love to help to start the conversation going and see where we could fit Ignite. Should we be looking at the 1.0.x branches or 1.1.x? |
Hi Jorge.
Thanks for getting back so quickly. On Mon, May 18, 2015 at 09:50AM, Jorge O. Release 1.1 is now going through the Incubator voting and should be done in 3 days. I presume you'd need to start looking at ignite-1.1.0-incubating-rc5 tag in the git, which will be soon complimented with the release tag. I will let the folks who do the actual development to chime in on the mechanics. Thanks, Cos |
