Guys
does this https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/BIGTOP-1833 looks familiar to anyone? [ERROR] Failed to execute goal on project ignite-schema-import: Could not resolve dependencies for project org.apache.ignite:ignite-schema-import:jar:1.0.0: Could not find artifact javafx :jfxrt:jar:1.7.0_75 at specified path /usr/lib/jvm/java-7-openjdk-amd64/jre/lib/jfxrt.jar -> [Help 1] I can not reproduce it iwht OJDK 1.7.0_79 but it has been reported a couple of weeks ago. Would appreciate the input from this community! Thanks Cos |
We are working on it: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/IGNITE-791
I expect that it will be fixed in a couple of days. Looks like there's a workaround for the problem, so perhaps we can employ it
in the coming 1.0 Bigtop release, without getting blocked on the IGNITE-791. Looking forward for the new release of Ignite! I'd like to inform that issue with Ignite schema import utility IGNITE-791
was resolved and merged into ignite-sprint-4 branch. The fix will be available in upcoming release. That's great news Alexey! Thank you very much!
On a side: what was driving the choice of JavaFX? I was part of this project in 2006, at the very early stages. but I never was impressed by it nor thought it would turn to a decent client solution. Cos, starting from Java 8 it looks good (see
http://fxexperience.com/controlsfx/features/ for example). JavaFX was chosen with an eye of Java8. I see. I am not a UI designer, but looking at what new generation of the
web-interfaces looks like - this still feels like early 2000, if you catch my drift ;) Cos On Fri, May 01, 2015 at 06:15AM, Alexey Kuznetsov wrote: > Cos, starting from Java 8 it looks good (see > http://fxexperience.com/controlsfx/features/ for example). > JavaFX was chosen with an eye of Java8. > > On Fri, May 1, 2015 at 12:51 AM, Konstantin Boudnik <[hidden email]> wrote: > > > That's great news Alexey! I see your comment on the JIRA - I didn't know that Swing got phase-out. Makes
one wonder: IntelliJ has done an outstanding job with Swing. Or may be they have migrated to another framework by now?... Cos On Thu, Apr 30, 2015 at 04:23PM, Konstantin Boudnik wrote: > I see. No, IntelliJ based on Swing. But to make it look so nice they do great
amount of work. But for such small utility (2 screens actually) JavaFX provide more out of the box than Swing. To make Swing looks good requires a lot of work or usage of third party libraries.
